Western Piedmont Symphony (WPS), the professional orchestra of the western foothills of North Carolina, presents MASTERWORKS: ROMANCE AND REALISM featuring the music of Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich on Saturday, November 18 at 7:30 PM at P.E. Monroe Auditorium on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory. Featured guest artist pianist Dmitri Vorobiev will perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor.

Anchorage Symphony presents Tradition & Innovation next year. The concert will take place on  Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM.

Providing assistance to young conductors in the early stages of their careers and thereby helping to continue the art form, The Solti Foundation U.S. has selected a record 22 young conductors to receive a 2023 Career Assistance Award (CAA).

On Saturday 11 March, conductor Paul Terracini will lead the orchestra in a concert featuring two towering Romantic favourites: the iconic Grieg Piano Concerto – featuring locally-born pianist Kathryn Selby AM – and Tchaikovsky's much-loved 6th Symphony, the Pathetique.  Plus two more recent composers' exploration of contemporary issues in crime against humanity and the connection between man and nature: young local composer Angus Davison's The Laws of Motion and Martinu's Ode to Lidice.

Philip Glass' Symphony No. 12 comes to Carnegie Hall this February for its New York premiere performance. Featuring five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo and organ virtuoso Christian Schmitt, it concludes Glass' trilogy of David Bowie-inspired symphonies.

The OMNI Ensemble will continue its 36th season of concerts at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 8:00 pm. The program will feature music for flute, cello and piano. Also being performed are improvisations by The OMNI Ensemble featuring the Kora, an indigenous African string instrument.
