Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new production of ‘80s mega-musical 'Miss Saigon' officially opened with a gala performance on March 26. This iteration of its London revival production ten years ago has found more inclusive storytelling with the casting of non-binary performer Seann Miley Moore in the lead role of The Engineer.

At the media presentation, Seann Miley Moore, The Engineer who’s part-Filipino, gave a taste of what’s in store for theatergoers when Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new production of 'Miss Saigon' opens at The Theatre at Solaire this weekend.

Five kids will join the cast of Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new 'Miss Saigon' production in time for its premiere at The Theatre at Solaire in March 2024, which kicks off its Asian tour. This 'Miss Saigon' production initially played at the Sydney Opera House in 2023.

Two familiar names, Nigel Huckle and Laurence Mossman, have made the list released by GWB Entertainment and GMG Productions, which unveiled the complete cast of 'Miss Saigon.'

Due to the overwhelming demand during pre-sale, presenter GMG Productions has announced Cameron Mackintosh’s globally-acclaimed revival production of Alain Boublil and Claude Michel Schonberg’s 'Miss Saigon' will extend its run in Manila until May 5, 2024; the original closing date was Apr. 21.

Melbourne audiences will soon have the chance to experience Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Boublil and Schönberg's award-winning musical Miss Saigon, playing from Sunday 29 October for a strictly limited 7-week season.

The 2014 West End production of 'Miss Saigon,' which also premiered on Broadway in 2017 and recently played at the Sydney Opera House, will make its way to The Theatre at Solaire in March 2024. GMG Productions and GWB Entertainment are on board as producers.

Presented by Opera Australia, Cameron Mackintosh’s Revival of MISS SAIGON reunites the creatives from the 2004 Touring Production, which reached Australia in 2007, to reincorporate elements of the 1989 West End original while shifting the focus to make a more powerful message than the central love story.

The tour of MISS SAIGON is a heartbreaking, epic, sensational production of a problematic show. Restaging MISS SAIGON in 2020 feels more unsteady than it might have 30 years ago. All in all, MISS SAIGON brings devastating, gritty realism to some problematic events. While the show's writing may feel dated at times, the production values and performances are first class, and I'm grateful to OKC Broadway for bringing in these tours of the highest caliber.

Most audiences, however, ignored the accusations of orientalism, misogyny, and white-washing and instead focused on the show's epic melodrama and theatrical splendor, much of it powered by the lush music of Claude-Michel Schönberg and the lyrics by Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby Jr. The show continues at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through October 13, 2019.
