Random Acts has announced the upcoming premiere of 'Home Movies: Die Hard,' set for July 25 at 7:00pm. 'Home Movies' is an ongoing series featuring professional actors recreating a Hollywood film from home in one take.

Set in the Renaissance, this toe tapping, hilariously clever musical-comedy tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two struggling playwrights trying to compete with rock star of the times, William Shakespeare for the hearts and minds of theatre-goers. After all, the play's the thing! Consulting with a local soothsayer, the Nick Bottom learns that the future of theater will be something called a musical, and sets out to produce the very first one. Hijinks and hilarity ensue. Performances run July 9th thru the 11th, 2021 at Hilliard Davidson High School, 5100 Davidson Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026. This landmark musical depicts the barber Sweeney Todd's savage quest for justice and retribution after years of false imprisonment. Aided by harridan pie shop owner Mrs. Lovett, who is secretly in love with him, he sets out to avenge the wrongs done to him and his family. Combining comic turns, chilling drama, and hauntingly beautiful romantic songs, Sweeney Todd offers a fascinating portrait of a man driven to madness by injustice.

As it was first published as a novel by L.M. Montgomery in 1908, "Anne of Green Gables" has long established its place of the shelf of classic literature. Even Mark Twain fell in love with the fiery lead character of 11 year old Anne Shirley, calling her, "the dearest and most lovable child in fiction since the immortal Alice". Shots in the Dark Independent Theatre Company opened its ambitious production of the musical version at the Columbus Performing Arts Center (CPAC)'s Van Fleet Theater for a two week run last evening.
