Napa Valley Museum Yountville will host a new exhibition opening in its History Gallery: “Pollyanna Valley,” the story of the beloved Disney film “Pollyanna” (1960) starring Disney Legend Hayley Mills and featuring filming locations in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

The Napa Valley Museum Yountville announces the opening of a new Main Gallery exhibition: “Dangerous Games: Treacherous Toys We Loved As Kids,” the Museum's original exhibition devoted to the wacky, “whammo,” wonderful world of the Slip 'N Slide, Lawn Darts, Creepy Crawlers, Clackers, and other tantalizingly toxic toys.

The exhibition showcases the work of 31 talented student artists from Vintage High School, Napa High School, Justin-Siena High School, Calistoga Junior/Senior High School, New Technology High School, Sonoma Academy, and Marin Catholic High School, in a diverse display illuminating the experiences of young local artists in creating during the pandemic.

The Napa Valley Museum Yountville is reopening all galleries to the public on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11 am. The Museum will reopen on a modified schedule: Fridays through Sundays from 11 to 4 (except major holidays).

The Napa Valley Museum Yountville's popular exhibition: a?oeLucy Liu: One of These Things Is Not Like The Others,a?? is now available as an online virtual tour. This exhibition of paintings and sculpture by the award-winning actress, artist and advocate opened in February but has been closed since mid-March, when the Museum shut down due to COVID. The interactive 3D virtual tour allows visitors to virtually walk through the gallery as if they were there in person.

On exhibition at the Napa Valley Museum Yountville from February 1 through April 26, 2020, the first U.S. museum exhibition of paintings and sculpture by Lucy Liu, the Artist, Actress and Advocate, entitled: a?oeLucy Liu: One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others.a?? An accomplished artist whose work was recently exhibited at the National Museum of Singapore, Liu has created an impressive collection of deeply personal artworks, ranging from large-scale paintings to inventive mixed media works to intricate wood sculptures.

The Napa Valley Museum Yountville announces the opening on October 16 of an extraordinary two week a?oePop-Upa?? exhibition in the Spotlight Gallery: Les Femmes Surréalistes, featuring the original paintings of Frida Kahlo, Leonora Carrington, and Leonor Fini among others. The exhibition celebrates the upcoming two day conference: Making HERstory: Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday a?" Reclaiming women in the arts, as well as the last two weeks of the Museum's landmark exhibitions: The Surrealist Revolution in America and Juanita Guccione: Otherwhere.

On the 10th anniversary of the Museum's last Herrero exhibit, the Napa Valley Museum Yountville will present "Lowell Herrero: Origins of an Original," a comprehensive exhibition depicting the life, work, and influences of the Napa Valley's iconic "Lavender Man" artist. The exhibit is organized by Herrero's widow and business partner Janet Herrero, and curated by noted St. Helena artist Jennifer Garden. The Opening Reception will be on Saturday June 2 at 5:00 pm, and is free for Museum members; $20 for Non-Members.

The Napa Valley Museum Yountville, located on the grounds of the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, after a brief closure on March 9, 2018, is now open to the public on its regular schedule of Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 to 4 pm.

The fun kicks off at 11 amon Friday, May 12 with the opening of our star attraction in the Main Gallery: Paul Dresher's “SOUND MAZE,” a hands-on interactive exhibit featuring wildly inventive oversized musical instruments creating a cacophony of sound – including a pendulum 17 feet high! Meanwhile in our Spotlight Gallery, stellar mother and son artists Geoff and Phoebe Ellsworth's show “Like Mother Like Son” begins a one-month exhibition and art sale to benefit the Museum's education programs. And on the Museum Terrace on the starry evening of Friday May 12, the Museum hosts a conversation with one of NASA's first female astronauts and “First Mom in Space” Anna Lee Fisher, with her daughter, Emmy-award winning Washington, DC news correspondent Kristin Fisher, sharing stories of the trailblazing women and their families in the space program.
