Adventure with Peter as he grows up and explores the wide and wonderful world around him! THE SNOWY DAY AND OTHER STORIES BY EZRA JACK KEATS is a First Stage First Steps production offered to introduce children ages 3 to 7 to theater in an engaging, interactive and lively environment. The House Theatre of Chicago will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the annual hit production The Nutcracker, an all-original, ballet-free and family-friendly production playing at The Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division, November 8 a?" December 29. Company Members Jake Minton, Phillip Klapperich, Kevin O'Donnell and Tommy Rapley created the adaptation based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's story with original direction and choreography by Rapley.

The House Theatre of Chicago brings back the hit holiday production with its annual engagement of The Nutcracker, an all-original, ballet-free and family-friendly production playing at The Chopin Theatre upstairs theatre, 1543 W. Division, November 8 - December 30. Company Members Jake Minton, Phillip Klapperich, Kevin O'Donnell and Tommy Rapley created the adaptation based on E.T.A. Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2018/19 season with John Steinbeck's classic story OF MICE AND MEN at Copaken Stage in the Power & Light District, from October 19 through November 11. I do not believe I have ever seen a more 'kid-friendly' theatrical event than the Olney Theatre Company's H.M.S. PINAFORE. Olney has welcomed back 'The Hypocrites' Chicago based troupe (they last appeared during the summer of 2016) who have taken their productions of both PINAFORE and PIRATES OF PENZANCE previously to the Pasadena Playhouse, and the Skirball Center in New York. 'The Hypocrites', founded in 1997 by Artistic Director Sean Graney have taken their repertories all over the country. 'The House Theatre of Chicago' has become the fiscal agent of 'The Hypocrites' and now serves as a co-producer.

Division St. The 2018 - 19 Season features three world premiere titles, and two returning audience favorites, creating a diverse slate of epic stories and stagecraft.  The season opens with a brand-new work written by guest artist Bennett Fisher, and helmed by guest artist Monty Cole. Borealis is a brother/sister adventure story offering a heartfelt look at the way we fail each other by building narratives to support our pre-existing worldviews. Borealis plays at the Chopin August 30 to October 21. In the spring, The House will premiere Pinocchio adapted for the stage by Company Members Joseph Steakely and Ben Lobpries, and directed by Company Member Chris Mathews. Pinocchio's wish to become a 'real boy' invites us to reconsider definitions of identity. Pinocchio plays at the Chopin from March 28 to May 19, 2019.
