The Philharmonic Society of Orange County presents 'An Evening with Itzhak Perlman.' Curated by Tony Award-winning director Dan Sullivan and produced by Elliott Forrest, this multi-media program interweaves storytelling by 16-time Grammy Award-winning violinist Itzhak Perlman alongside personal photos, clips from the Grammy-nominated Itzhak documentary, and live music-making by Perlman and longtime pianist and friend, Rohan De Silva.

POETRY IN AMERICA Returns to Public Television for Season Two

Eight new half-hour episodes of Poetry in America will begin airing on public television stations nationwide (check local listings) and on the World Channel starting this April and continuing through the spring and summer. Also in April, which is National Poetry Month, the series will be available to stream on pbs.org and individual episodes will be available on poetryinamerica.org.

The McCallum Presents 'The Reigning Virtuoso Of The Violin' Itzhak Perlman

The McCallum Theatre welcomes back the legendary Itzhak Perlman, performing with longtime pianist Rohan De Silva, for An Evening With Itzhak Perlman at 7:00pm., Monday, January 20. The show is made possible through the generosity of Barbara Arnstein. In this 2019-20 season, Perlman is embarking on a debut tour of a new program entitled An Evening With Itzhak Perlman, which captures highlights of his career through narrative and multimedia elements, intertwined with performance. In addition to the McCallum, tour stops have included or will include Penn State, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis the Mesa Arts Center, Artis-Naples and the State Theatre in New Jersey. 

HB STUDIO To Shine Light On Urgency Of Climate Change With Two Upcoming Events

This fall HB STUDIO is shining its spotlight on the urgency of climate change with two upcoming events:  the American Scoreboard performances of verbatim readings of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform hearing on The Need for Leadership to Combat Climate Change for two performances only on Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21 at 7pm; and a staged reading of playwright José Rivera's fanciful Maricela De La Luz Lights the World, directed by David Debinger, on Friday, December 6 at 7pm and Saturday, December 7 at 2pm.  All performances, which are free of charge, take place at HB Playwrights Theatre, 124 Bank Street.  Reservations can be made at hbstudio.eventbrite.com.
