Grace Newton brings Women in Country to The Drama Factory.  This show celebrates the wonderful female songwriters who have brought us music that makes us dance, cry and sing along. Women In Country features songs from Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Allison Krauss, June Carter-Cash and more.

Black Ensemble Theater Founder and Executive Director Jackie Taylor announces Jackie Taylor's Soul of A Powerful Woman (Her To Save The World), now in its eighth year. The virtual one-night fundraising event to benefit Black Ensemble Theater will be live on May 23 at 6:00 p.m. on Facebook and Youtube.

Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre, comprised and run by students from Millikin University, will stream a gender-bent production of The Last Five Years April 23-April 25.

The Drama Factory in Somerset West has become something of an institution for patrons in the area. The theatre has been around for three years already, and has had some incredible talent treading the boards. In December 2019, owner Sue Diepeveen undertook a big move and has relocated her theatre to a bigger building just around the corner.

Three fantastic female songwriters are teaming up for a night of beautiful music and storytelling at the Drama Factory. Lize Mynhardt, Grace Newton and Sarah McArthur (Miss Honey) are playing together for one night only in Somerset West. Do not miss out!

Old Town is Grace Newton on lead vocals, Jonathan Tait (Hatchetman) on guitar and backing vocals, Wouter Reyneke (Radio Kalahari Orkes) on bass, Carly Nauta on violin, Christoph De Chavonnes Vrugt (Crimson House) on drums and Arno van Zyl (Crimson House) on banjo. Mainly drawing influence from old time traditional country western and bluegrass music, the band delivers their own fast paced and modern reading of the genre. Their first single, White & Black, was recorded early in 2018 which laid the groundwork for their forthcoming full-length album release.

A night of foot tapping country/bluegrass/folk music with the exciting new Old Town Band. Old Town comprises Grace Newton on vocals and guitar, and Arno Van Zyl on the banjo.
