The New York Arab American Comedy Festival (NYAACF) is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a year-long tour to 5 of the most prestigious performance venues in the US. For two decades, the festival has upheld its commitment to combating negative media portrayals of Arab Americans and Muslims, while showcasing the incredible talent within the community and fostering connections with industry professionals.

Palestinian-American comedian and writer, Atheer Yacoub (Comedy Central, Gotham Comedy Live) will record her first stand-up comedy album at New York Comedy Club on November 20th at 7pm and 9:30pm.

Emmy-Award winning stand-up comic Judy Gold will add her voice to “INDICTMENT EXCITEMENT,” a lacerating exploration of the current political world of Donald Trump, the Republican Party and the upcoming midterm elections for 5 nights – Tuesday, October 21, Wednesday, October 21, Friday, October 28, Tuesday, November 1 and Friday, November 4. 

Laughing Liberally, in association with Eric Krebs, will present “INDICTMENT EXCITEMENT,” a lacerating exploration of the current political world of Donald Trump, the Republican Party and the upcoming midterm elections.

The New York Arab American Comedy Festival is back—virtually, that is--to give people some laughs during these challenging times.   What began as a began this festival in 2003 only two years after 9/11, has turned into the most successful comedy festival featuring Arab comics of different faiths.

What does it mean to be a good democratic citizen, and who gets to become one? How do our perceived civic duties change when democracy is under threat? Where do we get our ideas about what we 'ought' to do (vote? wear masks?) in the first place?

Laughing Liberally will present LAUGHING LIBERALLY OFF-BROADWAY - 'MAKE AMERICA LAUGH AGAIN,' featuring a diverse roster of political performers taking back the discourse and bringing joy and intelligent topical humor to the NY stage for 15 performances only, beginning tonight

The run promises a different lineup of artists at each performance a?' and the return to the NYC stage of the great Elayne Boosler.

Sakina's Restaurant, the Obie Award-winning play written and performed by actor, writer, and former correspondent for 'The Daily Show' Aasif Mandvi (Disgraced), just opened yesterday, October 14 at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Performances of the recently-extended five-week-only engagement began on October 5th. Sakina's Restaurant comes from Audible, the same producers as the critically acclaimed Harry Clarke, Girls and Boys, and Patti Smith: Words and Music, and the world's largest seller and producer of downloadable audiobooks and other spoken-word entertainment.

n Partnership with the UNC Center for the Study of the American South, Carolina Center for the Study of the Middle East and Muslim Civilizations, UNC's Department of American Studies, and Muslim Life at Duke, the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival is presenting a screening of the new comedy documentary, The Muslims Are Coming, at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 7. Last night, celebrities joined with NARAL Pro-Choice America and the New York Abortion Access Fund for an online telethon to raise money to support Texas women in the face of legislation restricting their right to abortion care.

Celebrating "A Decade of Funny," the 10th Annual New York Arab-American Comedy Festival will take place October 24th - October 27th. The annual weekend-long series will feature over 30 comedians over the four days and will mount six shows which will take place at two New York City locations.

LAUGHING LIBERALLY: THE 2012 ELECTION EDITION, a comedy extravaganza, which mixes humor, musical numbers, and political satire will conclude its 2012 on Oct. 15th at The Playroom Theater. Featuring progressive comedians from CNN, Comedy Central, Showtime, MTV, Huffington Post, and C-SPAN, the show plays Monday evenings at 8PM until Oct. 15th.

LAUGHING LIBERALLY: THIS AIN'T NO TEA PARTY, now enjoying an extended run Off-Broadway at the Midtown Theatre, 163 West 46th Street (just east of Broadway), will celebrate the departure of FOX NEWS's Glenn Beck, with a special edition dedicated to him, this Thursday at 8pm, featuring Beck-themed commentary and a farewell toast as well as an all-star line-up of aggressive progressives delivering a night of Laughter from the Left, including John Fugelsang, Lee Camp, Baratunde Thurston, Katie Halper, Negin Farsad and Jamie Jackson.
