Dear Santa, written by Norm Foster, welcomes the Christmas spirit to The REP from November 20, 2009 to December 20, 2009.

Dear Santa is the perfect way for families to rediscover the Holiday spirit. It is the time of year to peek into the magical and timeless world of the North Pole, bustling workshops, cheerful elves and the jolly old leader himself, Santa Claus. Santa's efficient, yet frenzied Chief of Staff, the ditzy housekeeper with a secret crush, the high-pressure sleigh salesman and the workshop foreman who does not quite command the English language all combine to keep the place running like clockwork, with the exception of a few mishaps. Soon, a request from one child's letter throws everything off course and the answer lies in rediscovering the Christmas spirit.

The REP is excited to bring patrons an exciting opening day experience this year with our Opening Bash. This event will take place after the 2pm and 7pm performances of Dear Santa on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Everyone will receive a free ticket to attend the Opening Bash when you present your ticket at the door on November 20th. Remember, you must have tickets to that day's performance to attend the Opening Bash.

Director Mark Brotherton says "I have been so privileged to be able to direct two past Christmas shows for The REP - and now a third. I have visited Victorian England with Scrooge, Bedford Falls with George Bailey, and now, the North Pole with Santa Claus. Each time I have been excited about bringing the spirit of Christmas to the audience and to myself. These shows bring up all the wonderful memories and joys of the season and let us know lucky we all really are." Brotherton has directed A Christmas Carol, You Can't Take It With You, It's a Wonderful Life and Thomas Edison Invents at The REP. He is also a tenured Associate Professor in Performance at UCF. Outside of the academic world, Mark has worked as actor in New York City and throughout the country. Mark received his B.F.A. from S.U.N.Y. at Purchase and his M.F.A. from Penn State.

Audiences are also invited to join The REP on Saturday, December 12th at 5:30pm for Sonny's Family Night. The performance of Dear Santa will be followed by an enjoyable dinner provided by Sonny's Bar-B-Q. Tickets for Sonny's Family Night, including the show, are $16 for youth (17 and under) and $22 for adults. Ticket upgrades are available for season subscribers for $7.

Dear Santa is supported in part by Orlando Utilities Commission. Show times are Fridays at 7:00pm, Saturdays at 2:00pm and 7:00pm and Sundays at 2pm.
