Seth Rudetsky Announces 2013-2014 Broadway Series at the Van Wezel

Broadway's own Seth Rudetsky makes a second appearance by popular demand at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Friday, March 22 @ 6:00 PM to reveal the Van Wezel's fabulous 2013-2014 Broadway Season.

During the invited event, which is presented to VW Subscribers, donors, Friends of the VW Foundation, and sponsors, Seth will present clips of the new Broadway season and discuss his personal experience with the shows. Following the event, there will be a reception in the Grand Foyer.

Recently, Seth co-wrote and starred in DISASTER! (The NY TIMES called a "triumph"), and currently writes a weekly column on Playbill.com, tours the country doing master classes and performing his one-man show "DECONSTRUCTING BROADWAY". Seth is best known for hosting a daily talk show on the Broadway Channel on Sirus/XM radio and now hosts his own TV show on cable. He frequently travels on Playbill Cruises with many of Broadways biggest stars. As a pianist, Seth has played for more than a dozen Broadway shows including RAGTIME, LES MIZ and PHANTOM.

He was the Artistic Producer/Music Director for the first five annual Actors Fund Fall Concerts including DREAMGIRLS with Audra McDonald (recorded on Nonesuch Records) and HAIR with Jennifer Hudson (recorded on Ghostlight Records, Grammy Nomination). As an author, he penned the book BROADWAY NIGHTS which was also released as an audio book on audible.com featuring Andrea Martin, Jonathan Groff and Kristin Chenoweth, as well as the recently published MY AWESOME/AWFUL POPULARITY PLAN (Random House) which was just recorded as an audio book with Megan Hilty and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

In addition to Seth's exclusive announcement of the 2013-2014 Broadway Season, he will also host a Musical Theatre Masters Class for local actors and students in our community, which will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 3:00pm-4:30pm. Participants invited to take part in the Master Class will be required to prepare 16 bars of a song on which Seth will base his feedback and coaching. This was an extremely successful free seminar last year and the Van Wezel Education Department is thrilled to be offering it again.
