Manatee Players Elects New Members to Board of Directors

The Manatee Players' Board of Directors elected three new Board Members at its annual membership meeting on Thursday June 21. 

J. Clifford Curley (Cliff) is a radio and television consultant and President of his own company, J. C. Curley & Company, Inc. since 1993. Prior to this, he held executive programming positions with the ABC & NBC owned TV stations, served as start up general manager of WQTV in Boston and WABM TV in Birmingham and was a member of the Office of the President of Media Central, overseeing seven FOX TV stations. In addition to working in non commercial TV and teaching film at the graduate level, Curley has created and syndicated nationally, entertainment and children's programming receiving 5 Regional Emmys and many national awards. Two of his programs were requested to be included in the Museum of Broadcasting in NYC. He is a graduate of Illinois State University (BS) and received graduate studies (MS) at Syracuse University.

Jeffrey P. Evans (Jeff) is a management consultant specializing in strategic planning, organizational change and process improvement. He has worked extensively with leading organizations in the financial services industry. He has been a senior business consultant and engagement manager with Experis Financial and the FIS Corporation and a Principal and Regional Practice Manager at J.D. Carreker & Associates. Prior to becoming a consultant, he held senior management positions in several financial institutions including U.S. Trust Company, Bankers Trust Company and Irving Trust Company. He has served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant with the 101st Airborne Division in El Paso, TX and at NORAD Headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. He has been a board member of an international adoption agency and the chairman of the School Advisory Council (SAC) at Gene Witt Elementary School. He is currently a member of the Board of Supervisors for the Greyhawk Landing CDD. Jeff is a graduate of Baruch College of the City University of New York (BBA) and St. John's University (MBA). He has also studied at the Harvard University, Graduate School of Business. He lives in Greyhawk Landing in Manatee County with his wife, Nitza and daughter, Alina. His older daughter, Amy is a middle school teacher in New Jersey.

David E. Schrott served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Manatee County Family Y.M.C.A., Inc. from 1987 until his retirement in 2005. During his tenure the YMCA grew from a small struggling organization to a four branch operation with comprehensive programs and facilities. He developed programs in afterschool childcare, drowning prevention, active older adult programs, youth sports, fitness and day camping designed to meet the needs of families in the community. Both the Bradenton Branch and the Lakewood Ranch branch were built under his leadership. Schrott worked for the YMCA for 39 years. Prior to Schrott's eighteen years in Manatee County, he served as the CEO of the YMCA of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as the Director of Operations for the YMCA of Dayton, Ohio, the Executive Director of the Fairborn Branch YMCA, Fairborn, Ohio and as Program Director of the North Hills Branch YMCA in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He still serves the YMCA of the USA as a volunteer coach for new CEOs. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, he graduated in 1966 from Springfield College, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science in Community Leadership. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Bradenton and in 1999 was recognized by the Manatee Community Council for Children as the Child Advocate of the Year.
