A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN takes the stage at the Parker Playhouse for five shows through April 1st.

A smash hit from the heart of Broadway, where it played for more than a year and a half, A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN is a musical comedy about the search for identity and meaning, chronicling the life of Jake Ehrenreich, an American-born child of Holocaust survivors.

A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN is performed with a live band and features multi-media videos and photos. Through stories, comedy and music – including a classic rock medley (“California Dreamin’,” “Secret Agent Man” and “Sunshine of Your Love”), a multi-instrumental version of Louis Prima’s “Sing, Sing, Sing” and even a selection of Yiddish songs – Ehrenreich recreates his unforgettable journey of discovery and lessons learned.

Ehrenreich’s story has spawned a book by the Chicken Soup for the Soul publishers called A Jew Grows in Brooklyn, the Curious Reflections of a First Generation American and a television documentary to be released later this year.

Performances for A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN run through Sunday April 1st at 2pm. Tickets are on sale now at the Parker Playhouse, 707 NE 8th St. in Fort Lauderdale, and may be purchased at the Box Office 954-462-0222 or online at www.parkerplayhouse.com. Individual tickets are $39.50 per person with discounts offered for groups of 10 or more.
