UNDER THE KNIFE: A FARCE, written and directed by Peter Zachari, will run at Theater for the New City, 155 1st Avenue (between 9th and 10th Street), New York, NY 10003, tonight, March 19-April 5, 2015, playing Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm. Sundays at 3pm.

Featuring Karen Lynn Gorney, star of the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and "All My Children" along with Peter Zachari, Lori Funk, Joey Mirabile, Itanza Wooden, Scott Ahearn, Katelyn Collins and Brian A. Simmons.

Due to financial woes, The Mount Canyon Gynecological Medical Group could go under. In deep debt, Dr. Roe Wade allows a broker to rent two offices, one to a dentist, the other to a pair of plastic surgeons. But! One of those plastic surgeons turns out to be his ex-wife, Marcia, and the dentist is his long-time mistress, Deidre - who, after plastic surgery bears a striking resemblance to Marcia the ex (although she doesn't know it.) Both women expect financial help from Roe: one for alimony, the other to help find her long-lost child. Then Marcia and Roe's son Budd arrives to ask for help to pay for his wedding to Bernadette, a pro-life activist. Budd works hard to prevent his girlfriend from learning about his father's controversial occupation. Add to the mix a wacky receptionist, a forgetful Holocaust survivor and a treasure trove of other characters and you get a colorful blast of mayhem in UNDER THE KNIFE: A FARCE.

Tickets; $15 general admission; $10 seniors and students. Call (212) 254-1109 or visit www.theaterforthenewcity.net.
