Algonquin Seaport Theater Productions proudly presents "The Art of Love", a new musical revue by Al Tapper at its theater on the South Street Seaport, August 28th, at 3pm and 7pm. Directed by David Flora, with musical direction by Larry Nachsin, featuring Kelli Maguire and Robert Vest, the show will play the final weekend of every month through December.

"Art of Love" tells the tale of two people who meet at an art gallery, become attracted to each other, and suffer through a series of misunderstandings before finally coming together. The story is told entirely through the songs of Al Tapper and features as a backdrop the breathtaking view of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Tapper is best known for the musical "Sessions", which ran for more than three hundred performances Off Broadway between 2008 and 2010. The show subsequently had a successful run in Guadalajara, Mexico and is scheduled to perform in Mexico City. He also wrote the music and lyrics for "National Pastime", just produced at the Keegan Theatre in Washington, D.C. as well as "An Evening At The Carlyle", "David" and "Imperfect Chemistry".

David Flora is currently the Program Director for The Sunday Series at Abingdon at Abingdon Theatre, NY. He has directed and conceived numerous musical revues for them including "IT'S THE TALK OF THE TOWN, the music of Jerry Livingston." For the Algonquin Theatre he has directed the Cole Porter revue, "Just One Of Those Things".

In existence since 2004, Algonquin Theater Productions has previously produced "Sessions", "The Devil and Billy Markham", "From Gershwin to Berlin", "LOL", "An Evening at the Carlyle", "Same Train", "Just One Of Those Things" and many others.

The Algonquin Seaport Theater is a new performance space located on the second floor of Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport.
