Abingdon Theatre Company present a reading of Hellman V. McCarthy by Brian Richard Mori, featuring Dick Cavett with Peter Brouwer, Susanne Marley, Carole Monferdini, Ricky Oliver, and Jeff Woodman and directed by Jan Buttram, tonight, July 15 at 7pm.

HELLMAN V. McCARTHY is based on the greatest literary feud in modern American history. On January 24, 1980, Mary McCarthy appeared as a guest on "The Dick Cavett Show" and declared that "every word [Lillian Hellman] writes is a lie, including 'and' and 'the.'" Hellman being Hellman (even her friends feared her venom) went ballistic and suEd McCarthy for libel. The suit spanned more than four years and was the talk of the literary community.

FREE. Limited seating. RSVP to mail@abingdontheatre.org. The Abingdon Theatre Company is located at 312 West 36th Street (between 8th & 9th Avenues), New York, NY. For more information, call 212-868-2055 or visit www.abingdontheatre.org.
