The Attic Theater Company will present the world premiere of Sam Gooley's play This One Time In Last Chance as part of the NYC International Fringe Festival in August. The show will be directed by Drama League Fellow Laura Braza, and performances are August 13th, 14th, 21st, 24th and 25th at Teatro Latea.
The New York Times reviewed the Attic's recent production of The Argument, saying, "Elisabeth Kübler-Ross never mentioned arranging date nights for the dead (with dancing) among the five stages of grief, but this is one of the more poetic rituals of "The Argument," a multimedia walk-through theatrical experience inspired by the disaster of Hurricane Katrina. ... [I]ts adventurous theatrical spirit yields haunting moments." Since their initial production at The Atlantic Theatre Company 2nd Stage (Firebugs 07), The Attic has produced six shows at Manhattan venues including the NYC Fringe Festival (World Premiere of Behold the Bowery, 08), The Duo Theatre (Oh Dad Poor Dad, 08), The Wings Theatre (Moonchildren, 09), The Connelly Theatre (Dark Rapture, 10), Theater Row's Studio Theatre (NYC Premiere of Wonderful World, 10), and DCTV (NYC Premiere of The Argument, 10). This One Time In Last Chance is a comedy that follows the tale of two guileless drug dealers whose deal is thrown off course when the attempted suicide of a stranger in their hotel room ends in robbery and hilarious mayhem. The play also hits deeper notes dealing with themes of friendship, parenthood, and the loss of loved ones; even if that which is lost is just a prized Pomeranian.Videos
