Target Margin Theater's TMT LAB: YIDDISH VERSION Begins Today

Target Margin Theater launches its 2013-14 season with their annual TMT Lab: Yiddish Version curated by TMT Artistic Producer John Del Gaudio. TMT's Lab offers a sampler of works from the canon of Yiddish theater and literature, to remind us all how diverse and sophisticated Yiddish culture was, and how great its loss.

Target Margin Theater is currently on a creative arc exploring Yiddish culture, a two-season initiative titled Beyond the Pale. The TMT Lab will include the work of playwrights, poets, novelists, and essayists, including the three great crowns of Yiddish literature - Sholem Aleichem, Y.L. Peretz and Mendele Moykher Sforim. The TMT Lab has the left, the right, the enlightenment, introspectivism, sweatshop poets from the Lower East Side, and modernist writers from Eastern Europe.

All performances will be performed in English and begin today, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 for a limited engagement through Saturday, December 21, 2013 at JACK (505 ½ Waverly Avenue, Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, take the G or C to Clinton-Washington).

John Del Gaudio, curator and TMT Artistic Producer, had this to share while assembling the second year of the TMT Lab Yiddish series, "We're very excited to be kicking off our season at JACK and continuing our exploration and journey through Yiddish literature and culture.
