Jade Bartlett (Ligeia) and Monsterpiece Theater Collective present an industry only reading of Bartlett's Miller's Girl at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19th, and at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21st. at Roy Arias Studios.

Directed by Samantha Tella (Sabra), the cast will feature Sean Thompson* (Sunset Boulevard, Signature Theater) as Jonathan Miller, Alice Ann Robinson (The Boyfriend) as Cairo Sweet, Tracy Weiler* (Fat Camp) as Winnie Black, Dana Watkins* (Masks Outrageous and Austere) as Boris Fillmore, and Jennifer Ewing (Much Ado about Nothing, Fringe NYC) as Beatrice Miller.

Miller's Girl is the story of a talented high school senior and the creative writing instructor who inspires her. But when the lines between teacher and pupil become blurred, a writing assignment based upon the works of Henry Miller sets in motion a chain of events that threatens relationships and careers.

Roy Arias Studios is located at 300 W. 43rd St, New York, at 43rd between 8th and 9th. The Miller's Girl reading is an invited presentation, but requests for seats or additional information can be directed to mptheatercollective@gmail.com.

Monsterpiece Theater Collective: The history of Monsterpiece can probably be traced back as early as 1999 with an outdoor production of Midsummer Night’s Dream or as recently as 2010 at a reading for an incredible new musical called Ligeia (do yourself a favor and go to ligeiathemusical.com and “wake yourself up”). However, where and when is not the point, we are all about the what. Monsterpiece Theater Collective is a group of risk-taking artists working together to tell compelling stories imaginatively by creating, supporting, and producing each other’s work in readings, workshops, and short run full productions. We specialize in kicking down closed doors and blowing up glass ceilings. In a place where risk taking producers are hard to find, we take risks on ideas, on possibility, and on each other.
