Final Weekend Arrives for Inaugural Season of Marvell Repertory Theatre

This is the last weekend for the inaugural season of the Marvell Repertory Theatre (Lenny Leibowitz, artistic director; Amy Estes, managing director) is NYC's only Equity (AEA) professional theatre - devoted exclusively to producing new and enduring works in rotating repertory. This exciting company has been performing at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex (312 West 36th Street 1st Floor). Marvell Rep's inaugural season included four magnificent, underperformed works from world literature. "Blood Wedding", by Federico Garcia Lorca, translated by Ted Hughes, and the NYC premiere of Joseph C. Landis' translation of "The Dybbuk" by S. Ansky continue for two ore weeks. The creative team for the season is: director Lenny Leibowitz; with scenery by Tijana Bjelajac; costumes by Susan Nester; lighting by Nicholas Houfek and sound by Daniel Dungan. These plays have original music by Adam Knauss and choreography for "The Dybbuk"is by: Gabrielle Orcha and "Blood Wedding"by Katie Ostrowski." The first presentation for the season was the double-bill of Nora", Ingmar Bergman's adaptation of Ibsen's A Doll's House; and "In the Shadow of the Glen", the darkly funny one-act by J.M. Synge and now "Blood Wedding".

The extraordinary Acting Company for this season includes award-winning veterans as well as some exciting new talent: Loni Ackerman (Messenger The Dybbuk, Ensemble Blood Wedding); Hamish Allan-Headley (Leonardo Blood Wedding, Ensemble The Dybbuk); Brian J. Carter (Michael In the Shadow of the Glen, Ensemble The Dybbuk); Rachel Claire (Leye The Dybbuk, Bridesmaid Blood Wedding); Daniel Owen Dungan (Menashe The Dybbuk, Woodcutter Blood Wedding); Ava Eisenson (Moon Blood Wedding, Gitl The Dybbuk); Joy Franz (Neighbor Woman/Servant in Blood Wedding, Channa Esther in The Dybbuk); Marc Geller (Dr. Rank Nora, Sender The Dybbuk); Sean Gormley (Krogstad Nora, The Tramp In the Shadow of the Glen); Nicolas Greco (Bridegroom Blood Wedding, Mikhol The Dybbuk); Chris Kipiniak (Torvald in Nora, Ensemble in The Dybbuk); Stephanie Lynne Mason (Wife Blood Wedding, Ensemble The Dybbuk); Jerry Matz (Father Blood Wedding, Ensemble The Dybbuk); William Metzo (Azriel The Dybbuk, Dan In the Shadow of the Glen); Allison McLemore (Nora Nora, Basia The Dybbuk) - Emma in The Madras House at The Mint. Rosalinda Perron (Mother-in-Law Blood Wedding, Ensemble The Dybbuk); Evgeniya Radilova (Bride Blood Wedding, Ensemble The Dybbuk); Mike Rosengarten (Hennakh The Dybbuk, Woodcutter Blood Wedding);. Lorraine Serabian (Mother Blood Wedding, Ensemble The Dybbuk); Barbara Spiegel (Frade The Dybbuk ); Eileen Ward (Nora In the Shadow of the Glen, Mrs. Linde Nora); Perri Yaniv (Khonnon The Dybbuk, Woodcutter Blood Wedding).

The final performances
"BLOOD WEDDING" (90 mins, no intermission) 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 2.

"DYBBUK" (2 hrs 15 mins includes intermission) Matinee at 3:00 pm on Sunday April 3.
