Music and opera students are cooperating on a new opera performance. The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet again makes available its Second House when the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Academy of Opera combine forces in a complete opera production, with soloists and orchestra made up entirely of students.
This season offers two productions: the newly written Norwegian opera Ad undas in autumn 2013 and a brand new production in spring 2014. The Academy of Opera will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014, and this performance will mark both the graduation performance for master students and a celebration of the academy’s anniversary. The production will be directed by Veselina Manolova, a nestor in operatic circles, who for more than 30 years has been giving opera singing lessons to students who have gone on to perform in opera houses in Norway and throughout Europe.
Professor Gerhard Markson from the Academy of Opera will be conducting the Norwegian Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra.Programme to be announced.
