The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey concludes its 2012 Lend Us Your Ears play reading series with the provocative comedy Wittenberg by David Davalos. The reading, which features a prestigious cast of Shakespeare Theatre Company members and guest artists, will take place on Monday, September 24 at 7 p.m. at the Shakespeare Theatre's Main Stage, the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. For tickets or more information, call the box office at 973-408-5600 or visit www.ShakespeareNJ.org.

This script-in-hand reading will be followed by a talk-back session with the director, cast, and audience that will provide valuable feedback on the play and its potential for future production.

Filled with plot twists and sly wordplay, this clever and irreverent comedy portrays Doctor Faustus and Martin Luther as rival college professors vying for the allegiance and philosophical buy-in of their star pupil – Hamlet – who can't decide on a major.

Of Wittenberg's New York premiere, the Huffington Post said "'to be or not to be' never sounded so entertaining," and The New York Times said "hilarity, thy name is 'Wittenberg'."
