Players' Ring Board president and wife of Gary Newton remarked that "when Gary walked into the space that was to become the Players Ring and said we can make this into a theatre, I was supportive but a little skeptical." She agrees that if Gary Newton were here with us today, he would be proud of how much growth has taken place over the years in this 70 seat black box theatre that he created in 1992. Gary's extraordinary vision of nurturing new artists and playwrights and allowing them an affordable space to bring their productions, projects, and workshops to life here at Players' Ring continues to thrive after 25 years. Barbara Newton is proud of what Gary and she accomplished and stated "All these years later Gary's vision has created a special environment for performing artists of all types. I am so very grateful that his spirit and vision live on at the Players' Ring."

This Season, the Players' Ring felt that it was important to share with our audience some of Gary's magic back to the stage through stories and shared memories as well as some of his own original work .

About the Ring: Since 1992, the mission of the Players' Ring has been to promote the efforts of local artists through the production of original works, while providing affordable theater space to local production companies. "The Ring" provides an environment where artists can thrive, grow, take risks, and make daring choices.
