On Saturday, May 13 at 12:30pm, the Peterborough Players will present a live streamed broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera's production of Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier.

Renée Fleming sings one of her signature roles as the Marschallin, opposite El?na Garan?a in her first North American performances as Octavian, the impulsive young title character. The cast also includes Günther Groissböck as Baron Ochs, Erin Morley as Sophie, Marcus Brück in his Met debut as Faninal, and Matthew Polenzani as the Italian Singer. The production is conducted by Sebastian Weigle and directed by Robert Carsen, who places the action at the end of the Habsburg Empire, underscoring the opera's subtext of class and conflict against a rich backdrop of gilt and red damask. Runtime is approximately 4 hours 21 minutes including 2 intermissions.

MET HD tickets are $25 each and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 603-924-7585 or online at www.peterboroughplayers.org. The Peterborough Players theatre is handicapped accessible, is equipped with a hearing assistance system and is located at 55 Hadley Rd, Peterborough, NH 03458

This is the final presentation of the Peterborough Players 2016-2017 Arts on Screen Season. The Players open their 2017 Summer Season (9 plays in 13 weeks) on June 21.
