The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company Presents a Special Presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar opening June 30th and running through July 9th. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. Come see this 1970's Rock Opera by Andew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice in this not so typical community theater performance. It's a post-apocalyptic take on the story with a modern twist.

Some of the scenes will be surprising, but the gist is "if Jesus were to come during a modern, war-torn, dystopian time, what would it be like?" There will be violence, there will be blood, there will be miracles, there will be salvation. This is a real and gritty look at the events (told and untold) during Jesus' time. It will be quite visual, dark and thought provoking. Directed by Robert Pitt and Kym Sims, Jesus Christ Superstar presents Steven Sorrell as "Jesus," Natalie Klein Hudson as "Mary Magdalene" and Jamie Carfi as "Judas" along with an amazing cast of characters that are sure to thrill audience members.

Jesus Christ Superstar is recommended for mature audiences only. Performances will be held at the Hendersonville Performing Arts Company located in the City Square Shopping Center, 260 West Main St., Suite 204 in Hendersonville.
