Families everywhere know the beloved holiday movie that inspired a new musical, and now they can meet Buddy the Elf and see him like they never have before, live onstage in The Arts Center of Cannon County's new production of ELF the Musical Jr., running December 9-11 in Woodbury. The one-act Young at Arts Series show runs approximately one hour.

In the musical (based upon the film), Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Ticket prices are $10 and may be purchased by calling the Arts Center box office at (615) 563-2787. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.artscenterofcc.com. Tickets are available at the door, space permitting.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9; at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 10; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 11.

The Arts Center is located on 1424 John Bragg Highway, just west of the town of Woodbury, approximately 20 minutes from Murfreesboro, Manchester, and McMinnville and one hour southeast of Nashville. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
