Stage Aurora Theatrical Company Announces
FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF

Stage Aurora Theatrical Company presents the Award winning Broadway Play and Film, FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF by Ntozake Shange, March 18-20 and 25- 27, 2011 at the Stage Aurora Performance Hall -5188 Norwood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL.

Stage Aurora commemorates Women's History Month with this production of For Colored Girls... This passionately-feminist spellbinding choreopoem is a fluid collection of vivid prose and free verse narratives about and performed by black women. Through dance, music, and poetry, the women are united in sorrow, spirit, pride and soul. This groundbreaking work captures the brutal, tender and dramatic lives of contemporary Black women in relation to all women. For Colored Girls... offers a transformative, riveting evening of talent, message, and theatre.

Director Dee Quaranta and Co-Director Darryl ReuBen Hall found so much talent in the Jacksonville community that they've had to double-cast the production with alternating performances. The powerful casts feature: Marilyn McNair and Sharon Culpepper as Lady in Brown; Rebekah Williams and Chelsea Hunt as Lady in Yellow; Michelle Jones and Leslie Ousley as Lady in Blue, Tarra Jones and DeeDee Ellis as Lady in Green; Amahre Palmer and Tinishia Nicole as Lady in Purple; Shauntel Bennett and Robin Daniels as Lady in Orange; Victoria Ward and Lolita Flagg as Lady in Red; with choreography by Adriene Reid. The cast also features Joycelyn Petty, Lauren Ousley, Loretta Williams, and Candace Crump. This production explores mature themes not suitable for younger audiences.
