The Group Rep Co-Artistic Directors Larry Eisenberg and Chris Winfield have announced the company's exciting 42nd Season and the opening of a new performance space on the second floor of the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood, CA.

The Group Rep began as a rag-tag group of 12 actors performing scenes in a laundromat turned into a 36-seat theatre on Van Ness Boulevard. Notable actor/director Lonny Chapman dropped by and the magic began. Lonny Chapman brought vision, purpose and his hunger to explore and describe the human condition. Most of all - - he brought his sense of community.

That community has grown and prospered, with The Group Rep having produced more than 300 shows during their tenure, and given birth to numerous world premieres.

This new season boasts a total of 8 productions, 5 mainstage with 3 shows running upstairs in the 32-seat Upstairs at The Group Rep which will afford company members the opportunity to develop and appear in smaller, more experimental productions and to offer more tantalizing experiences for the patrons.

The 42nd Season kicks off with the Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer prize-winning drama CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF (October 2 - November 14) directed by L. Flint Esquerra who directed last season's critically acclaimed production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.

Other productions in The Group Rep's 2015-2016 Mainstage season include James A. Zimmerman's musical biography THAT LOVIN' FEELIN' directed by Jules Aaron (December 11, 2015 - January 24, 2016), the historical farce BACH AT LEIPZIG directed by Calvin Remsberg (February 20 - April 10), a world premiere black comedy THE ARMADILLO NECKTIE directed by Drina Durazo (May 6 - June 19) and CALENDAR GIRLS directed by Larry Eisenberg (July 15 - August 28). Upstairs at The Group will offer A.R. Gurney's ANOTHER ANTIGONE directed by Linda Alznauer (December 26, 2015 - January 31, 2016). The other two plays to be announced will run March 12 - April 17 and May 21 - June 26 respectively.
