Malibu Playhouse Presents David Trudell's NIGHT & DAVE Tonight

Artistic Director GENE FRANKLIN SMITH and MALIBU PLAYHOUSE present a limited engagement of solo artist DAVID TRUDELL's hit autobiographical show NIGHT & DAVE tonight and tomorrow, November 1 and 2 at 8:00 p.m. and November 3 at 3:00 p.m.

Night & Dave is a funny and touching one-man tour de force that chronicles Trudell's evolution from being marked as different in kindergarten to taking ownership of his identity in the midst of turbulence and hilariousness; traversing from the Twentieth to the Twenty First Centuries.

Michael Kearns, one of Los Angeles' veterans of all aspects of solo performance, collaborates with Trudell again as director (having previously directed Trudell in In Heat in Hollywood and In Heat in Hollywood Ho Ho). "David is the real deal," Kearns says. "To have accomplished what he has in the past eighteen months is no easy feat. The work is funny, edgy and always forging new territories."

Gene Franklin Smith, Artistic Director of Malibu Playhouse, has long been associated with Michael Kearns (who will be starring in Malibu Playhouse's June-July, 2014 production of the Pulitzer and Tony-Award-winning I Am My Own Wife), and Trudell's show fits perfectly into the new theater's Mission Statement. "I have seen Dave's phenomenal growth as an assured solo artist over the past couple of years, and Night & Dave is definitely the type of daring and original entertainment that we will now be presenting at Malibu Playhouse."
