Live Q&A with Superdelegate Mary Ellen Early at The Crest Follows 3rd Presidential Debate Livestream

Wednesday, October 19th at 6PM the art deco style LA landmark theater will livestream the 3rd presidential debate. Doors open at 5PM with a short Q&A with Superdelegate Mary Ellen Early at 5:45PM, and again at 7PM following the debate. Lanre Idewu hosts the evening's event.

A Trump rep will be onsite, but hasn't confirmed whether he'll take part in Q&A.

Mary Ellen Early has represented California as a member of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) since 1988, and was elected to an eighth 4-year term in 2016. Mary Ellen has attended every Democratic National Convention since 1984, and has been an unpledged delegate at each convention since 1992. Mary Ellen is a member of the Western States Caucus, and has served on the Executive Committee of the DNC Women's Caucus.

In 2000, Mary Ellen served as convener for Vice President Al Gore's nominating caucus in what was then the 24th Congressional District. This caucus helped to select delegates to the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.

An active member of the California Democratic Party Executive Board, Mary Ellen was an Assembly District Chair from 1986 to 1988, a Regional Director from 1988 to 1991, and a member of the Party's Resolutions Committee from 1993 until 2011, when she was appointed to the Organizational Development Committee. She is the founder and co-editor of the California DNC Press Democrat, a regular newsletter published for the California Democratic Party. She is a member of the Women's Caucus, the Vice-Chair of the Irish American Caucus, and is Parliamentarian for the Native American Caucus.

In addition, Mary Ellen serves on the Board of Irish American Democrats, a national organization aimed at turning out the Irish American vote, where she represents California.

Mary Ellen has been active in the Los Angeles Democratic Party since 1985, and is currently Chair of the Community Outreach Committee, and a member of the Finance Committee. She is President of Action Democrats of the San Fernando Valley, and has worked on numerous political campaigns.

A resident of Sherman Oaks for over 40 years, Mary Ellen received her BA in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she participates in the Governmental Affairs Advocacy Program, lobbying elected officials on issues of importance to the University of California in general, and UCLA specifically. In 1995, Mary Ellen was appointed as a public member to the California Board of Psychology by the State Senate, and served two four year terms. In 2013 Governor Brown appointed her a public member of the Respiratory Care Board, and reappointed her in 2015.

About The Crest: The Crest is a unique combination of historical charm and modern performance technology and capabilities. Built in 1940, the 460 seat theater houses a single movie screen with the ability to show 35 and 75mm films, a 4K digital projector, Dolby Digital sound, and an entertainment stage for live shows. In 2008, the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission voted unanimously to recommend the theater as a City of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. The theater is gearing up to present a compelling mix of programming to the Los Angeles community in 2017 and invites programmers to creatively use the space.
