The award-winning Impro Theatre begins its 11th Anniversary Season with a limited run of Dorothy Parker UnScripted at the intimate Impro Studio in the heart of Los Feliz Village. These completely improvised performances will take place on Saturday nights at 7:30pm from January 28 to February 25, 2017.

Directed by Jo McGinley and Paul Rogan, Dorothy Parker UnScripted starts with audience suggestions and features Impro Theatre's Main Company in an evening of completely improvised short stories inspired by the legendary wit of Dorothy Parker. Known for her sharp, caustic humor in the Roaring 1920s, Parker was an American writer, critic, and satirist whose acerbic wit and cultural commentaries were highly influential. The rotating cast includes Main Company members Lisa Fredrickson, Madi Goff, Kelly Holden Bashar, Jo McGinley, Dan O'Connor, Stephen Kearin, Edi Patterson, Mike Rock and Paul Rogan, with guest artists Paul Hungerford and Sara Mountjoy-Pepka.

Dorothy Parker UnScripted is a stripped-down, intimate production from Impro Theatre, which has garnered national attention with their unique acclaimed brand of theatre and sold-out shows. They create entirely improvised, full-length plays in various styles; every show is completely different, and each performance is seen only by the people in the theatre on that night. Impro Theatre recently performed 1966 Holiday Variety Extravaganza at The Broad Stage and L.A. Noir UnScripted as part of the Ford Theatre's summer season in the 1200-seat Ford Amphitheatre. They have performed locally at South Coast Repertory, The Falcon Theatre in Burbank, North Coast Repertory, Lewis Family Playhouse, The Carrie Hamilton Theatre at the Pasadena Playhouse, and many more. They have also headlined comedy events around the country and performed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Athenaeum Theatre in Chicago, Texas State University, Sarasota Improv Festival, and dozens more.

Writing about Impro Theatre, American Theatre magazine said, "These virtuosic talents simply are as superhuman as they seem. These serious professional actors, classically trained, can write on their feet better than many writers can type at a desk. Impro's work has taught me to demand more from the theatre." Los Angeles Times calls Impro Theatre, "Amazing! One of the funniest evenings in town. The troupe spins an entire play into comedy gold right before your eyes." Impro's shows have been consistently honored with "Ovation Recommended" and "Critic's Picks," and they were recently named by LAist as one of the 12 Best Theatre Companies in Los Angeles.

Dorothy Parker UnScripted runs from January 28 to February 25, 2017. Performances are Saturdays at 7:30pm. General admission tickets are $15. Running time is 90 minutes. Tickets are available at www.ImproTheatre.com or by calling (323) 401-6162.
