Gustavo Dudamel Conducts The Colburn Orchestra, 2/19

Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Gustavo Dudamel, will be conducting the Colburn Orchestra at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Tuesday, February 19. The concert will feature International award winning clarinetist, Sang Yoon Kim, from The Colburn Conservatory of Music.

Gustavo Dudamel, Music Director of the LA Philharmonic said:

"I'm delighted to be conducting The Colburn Orchestra. These young artists at Colburn have great energy and, with credit to their teachers, a wonderful level of professionalism. It is a plus to the Los Angeles community to have this special Conservatory as our LA Philharmonic neighbors."

Sel Kardan, President and CEO of the Colburn School said:

"The Colburn School is honored to have Maestro Dudamel lead our conservatory orchestra in Disney Hall. The collaboration further strengthens our long-standing relationship with our neighbors The Los Angeles Philharmonic and will prove to be a memorable experience for our gifted young artists."

The Colburn Orchestra is the flagship ensemble of the Colburn Conservatory of Music, which is nestled in the center of downtown Los Angeles' culturally rich art community of Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Music Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the planned Broad Museum. Recently, conductor Gerard Schwartz said that the Colburn Orchestra is "without question among the finest orchestra in the world". In addition to Gustavo Dudamel's performance, Dietrich Paredes - who is the chief conductor of the Youth Orchestra of Caracas (YOC) in Venezuela and a LA Phil Dudamel Conducting Fellow, will conduct on the 19th February.
