Falcon Theatre Presents The Premiere Of 'SURVIVING SEX' 2/6

The Falcon Theatre presents the world premiere comedy Surviving Sex, the fourth production in its 2008-2009 'Bringin' the FUNNY' All-Comedy subscription season. Written by acclaimed comedy writer David landsberg (author of last year's hit play An Act of Love at the Falcon Theatre), Surviving Sex stars an ensemble cast led by Jeff Marlow, a veteran of the Falcon stage (Where's Poppa?, Sheldon & Mrs. Levine) and directed by Susan Morgenstern (director of last year's Falcon comedy, Leap).

Surviving Sex tells the misadventures of Stan Cooper (Jeff Marlow), your average accountant with a not-your-average sex life. His quest for sexual understanding is thwarted by the cast of romantically-challenged characters in his life. Filled with eccentric encounters and lively liaisons, Stan's hilarious romp through the jungle of love shows us how different love and sex can really be. Life without romance may be a lot safer than surrendering to one's sexual needs...but certainly not funnier!

David landsberg (Playwright) Born in Brooklyn, New York, David is a Vietnam Veteran who graduated from the University of Maryland and began his career in entertainment as an actor in 1972, appearing in numerous plays, TV series and movies. After receiving absolutely no awards for acting, he turned to writing and worked as a producer and writer for Blossom on NBC and served as Executive Producer and Head Writer for two successful seasons on the innovative half-hour Herman's Head for the Fox Network. David was a Consulting Producer and writer on NBC's John Larroquette Show, Executive Producer/Head Writer for The Cosby Show and Executive Producer of UPN's Love Boat: The Next Wave. His voice can be heard as the father in Disney's award-winning cartoon, Stanley. In March 2008, David's original play An Act of Love premiered at the Falcon Theatre, starring Susan Sullivan and directed by Casey Stangl.

Susan Morgenstern (Director) After directing Arnold Margolin's Leap in all its developmental phases, Susan was delighted to direct it as the opening production of the Falcon's 2007-2008 season. A lifelong actress, after co-teaching American Musical Comedy with Tom Lehrer at U.C. Santa Cruz, she went on to teach and direct at the renowned Stage Door Manor performing arts camp in upstate New York. In New York, Susan co-wrote, co-produced, co-directed, and performed in the zany comedy group, The Sylvanian Shakes pearean Sircus. In Los Angeles, her direction of The Ascension Of Lili at the Two Roads Theatre received critical acclaim. Susan has also directed various works at Theatre West, including selections from All In The Timing; the company's inaugural Youth Theatre musical, Just Too Cool; and the musical, Saturday Night at Grossinger's, which played for several months to sold out houses. She will be directing Theatre West's WestFest Production of Barbara Beery's The Socialization of Ruthie Shapiro in February 2009.

Jeff Marlow (Stan) Theatre credits include Sheldon & Mrs. Levine, Where's Poppa? (Falcon Theatre); Hamlet, Nothing Sacred (South Coast Repertory); The Complete History of America (abridged) (national tour, Reduced Shakespeare Company). TV includes Pushing Daisies, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Without a Trace. Film includes Akeelah and the Bee, The Hebrew Hammer.

Amy Handelman (Denise) Amy recently graduated from Michigan State University earning a degree in Theatre, and turned and ran straight for the Pacific. Since arriving in Los Angeles, Amy has most recently been seen in The Taming of the Shrew with Shakespeare Festival/LA. She is a proud new member of AEA!

Peter Story (Larry) A proud member of the B Street Theatre Acting Ensemble, Peter has worked in regional theatres across the country, including the roles of 'Sydney' in Impossible Marriage (OKRep), and 'Dean' in Five Course Love (STC). TV credits include: Ugly Betty and Quarterlife. Peter starred in the short film Le Chat Est Mort and opposite Steve Guttenberg in Cornered.

Dana Green (Lenore) most recently appeared in Twelfth Night at California Shakespeare Theatre. She has spent four seasons with the Stratford Festival of Canada where she appeared in Twelfth Night and Measure for Measure, among others. Regional theatre credits include: The Play's the Thing (Asolo Reperatory Theatre), All's Well That Ends Well (Yale Repertory Theatre), and Hay Fever (Court Theatre).

Mandy June Turpin (Jennifer) was last seen as 'Kathy Davidson' in the world premiere of Imperfect Seed at the Whitefire Theater. Other credits include: 'Rachel' in Love and Understanding, 'Bette' in The Marriage of Bette and Boo and over 50 performances with the Improv Troupe "Improvicide." TV and film credits include: Powder Blue, Lost, Burn Notice, Bones and House M.D., among others.

Steve Coombs (Sid) Steve's LA theater credits include: A Noise Within ('Romeo' in Romeo and Juliet and 'Horatio' in Hamlet), Theatre @ Boston Court ('Dorian' in The Picture of Dorian Gray), and Circus Theatricals ('Billy' in Safe). Steve appears in many independent films. He recently directed a documentary in Africa, and is the founder of Inspiring Players.

The Falcon Theatre is a 130-seat performing arts space located in the Burbank, California media district. Built by Director/Writer/Producer Garry Marshall and his daughter Kathleen Marshall, the Falcon offers a 5-play subscription series from August through April, in addition to family shows in the summer.
