Musical Theatre West (MTW) raises the curtain on its inaugural "Broadway in Concert" series for the 2016-17 season. Each concert, held at the newly renamed Beverly O'Neill Theater at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, will feature top Broadway talent, including Davis Gaines (September 24, 2016), Valerie Perri (January 29, 2017), and Susan Egan (March 17, 2017).

Opening the series is a Broadway and Musical Theatre West favorite, Davis Gaines on Saturday, September 24, 2016, 8pm in his first Los Angeles concert engagement in four years! Gaines is best known as the longest running Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, performing the role more than 2000 times both on Broadway and on tour.

Musical theatre veteran Valerie Perri takes the stage on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Perri made her professional stage debut in 1979 starring as Eva Peron in the Broadway National Company of Evita under the direction of Harold Prince. For the next 25 years she played the role throughout the world, earning critical acclaim and accolades. Luminary director-choreographer Jerome Robbins tapped Perri for the first National Broadway Tour of Jerome Robbins Broadway.

Broadway's "Beauty" Susan Egan closes the series with a performance on Friday, March 17, 2017. Egan has made powerful impressions in theatre, film, television and music. She headlined on Broadway as Thoroughly Modern Millie, won critical acclaim as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, starred in Triumph of Love and State Fair, and received Tony Award and Drama Desk nominations for "Best Actress" as the original Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Regionally, Egan starred alongside Carol Burnett in Putting It Together and Tommy Tune in the national tour of Bye, Bye Birdie, and developed works at Yale Repertory, Baltimore Center Stage, South Coast Repertory, and the Mark Taper Forum.
