Crown City Theatre announces its new season featuring DANGEROUS CORNER by J.B. Priestley tonight, Sept. 27th, 2012, COMPANY by George Furth and Stephen Sondheim Feb. 14th, 2013, and THE FOREIGNER by Larry Shue May 23rd, 2013. Also, keep a look out for their surprise Christmas show to be announced in October. (Dates and shows subject to change)

DANGEROUS CORNER by J.B. Priestley is a mystery-thriller with the added bonus of being a ghost story as well. Director Gary Lamb has taken the approach of bringing the character of the dead brother Martin into the action as a ghost in order to take this play to a new level of intrigue. The character of Martin plays the piano and sings songs to comment on the others, unseen and unheard by them, but very much propelling them to bring out hidden truths that ultimately lead to finding out the real circumstances surrounding his death. The play has been moved from the early 1930's to the early 1960's and utilizes song from before that time period such as "My Funny Valentine" and "Smile" to name a few. Throughout the play we learn about sordid affairs, lies, thieves and murder, perhaps, as Robert, Martin's brother, pushes the cast of characters to delve into the past and find out the truth about his brothers suicide. There are songs, laughs and intrigue a plenty as we turn many dangerous corners to find out the truth and ultimately learn that it may be better to let 'sleeping dogs lie' then to be torn apart by the truth.

The grand Press opening will be tonight, September 27th at 8pm with a small tasteful party right after the show. The show will continue playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm through November 4th (w/possible extension).
