The Barn Players premieres their 59th consecutive season with the award winning rock musical "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson", a mix of reality and fiction with an infectious rock music score.

The show recreates and reinvents the life of our seventh President Andrew Jackson, known as "Old Hickory", who was America's first political maverick, from his beginnings on the Tennessee frontier to his days as President of the United States, to his political problems, problems with the American Indians and his relationship with his wife Rachel, in this political carnival featuring Jackson as a rock star.

"Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson" opens at the Barn Players this evening, February 28th and plays through Sunday, March 16th. Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 with Sunday matinees at 2:00 - the show is rated "R".

The Barn Players production is directed by Guy Gardner, with musical direction by James Levy. The show features Matt Pierce as "Andrew Jackson", Beth Benedict as "Rachel Jackson", Fran Kapono as "The Story Teller", plus Kristen Altoro, Wil Andrews-Weiss, Sarah Bodie, Andrew Brown, Anne Haines, Gabe Lasley, Jake Leet, Katie Pugh, Brian Shortess, Tracy Van Unen, James Wearing and Alyssa Winters.

Tickets are $18.00 and may be purchased on the theatre website www.thebarnplayers.org, by calling 1-800-838-3006 or at the box office the date of the performance; discounts for seniors and students. 2014 season tickets are also available; get all six season shows for the price of five.
