American Songbook Youth Ambassador Madelyn Baillio will join multi-platinum selling, five-time Grammy-nominated entertainer Michael Feinstein for a celebration of Frank Sinatra at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston, Texas. The event takes place Saturday, October 17th, as a season kick-off event.

Madelyn, who hails from League City, Texas, was the winner of the 2014 Great American Songbook Academy and has since performed at Birdland Jazz Club, Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center. She will make her Carnegie Hall debut in February 2016. She is currently a sophomore at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City and recently starred as Winnifred in the musical Once Upon a Mattress at the historic York Theater.

"I am so excited to be sharing the stage again with Michael Feinstein. He has been such an inspiration to me and to so many young people who love to perform the music of the American Songbook," Madelyn said.

Michael Feinstein founded the Great American Songbook Foundation in 2007 in order to preserve, promote, and perpetuate the music of the Great American Songbook to future generations. The work of the Songbook Foundation includes educational programming, a reference library, archive and gallery, the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame, and the annual high school Songbook Academy.

"I created the Songbook Academy to foster young artists who have an interest in the American Songbook, which includes the music of classic Broadway, Jazz standards, and popular music. Through this program, we are reaching a new generation to teach the music of the American Songbook and the history that inspired and influenced its composers," said Michael Feinstein, founder of the program and the organization called the Great American Songbook Foundation. "Madelyn Baillio has been a wonderful Songbook Youth Ambassador. Her musicianship and interpretation of this music are well beyond her years. She is a rare talent," said Feinstein.

Michael and Madelyn will perform a rousing celebration of Frank Sinatra with a sizzling Big Band, performing splendid musical arrangements of the greatest hits of Ol' Blue Eyes! The show is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 8 pm. Tickets may be purchased at The Grand's Box Office, 2020 Post Office Street, by calling 409.765.1894, 800.821.1894, or online at www.thegrand.com.
