GIRLS ONLY - THE SECRET COMEDY OF WOMEN to Return to Houston, Begin. 1/31

Girls Only - The Secret Comedy of Women®, the original hit comedy that entertained more than 10,000 Houston women in its record-breaking run of 99-performances here last year, will return to Main Street Theater Chelsea Market for an extended engagement, beginning January 31, 2014.

Featuring a two-woman cast, Girls Only mixes sketch comedy, improvisation, audience participation and uproarious songs and video in a unique examination of all things girly. "It's like Saturday Night Live on hyperdrive," was one theatergoer's summary.

Starring Houston actresses Tracy Ahern and Shondra Marie (both rotating with Lendsey Kersey), Girls Only was created by Barbara Gehring and Linda Klein, two Denver improve actresses who adapted the earnest and sweetly absurd writings they discovered in their girlhood diaries. The show has since been enjoyed by more one hundred thousand women nationwide.

"Our average purchase last year was five tickets - typically one woman who had seen the show bringing four friends," said the show's on-site producer, Houston's Sydney Greenblatt. "A lot of Houston women find this to be the perfect girls-night-out," she said.
