The Eklektix Theater Company opens its theatre season with a new production of Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, directed by Bryan-Keyth Wilson.

After a successful inaugural production of SPRING AWAKENING the creative at The Eklektix Theatre presents its first-ever production of Shakespeare with an ambitious staging of the Bard's final great tragedy Macbeth is considered one of his darkest and most powerful tragedies written by Shakespeare.

Set in Scotland, the play dramatizes the corroding psychological and political effects produced when its protagonist, the Scottish lord Macbeth, chooses evil as the way to fulfill his ambition for power. He commits regicide to become king and then furthers his moral descent with a reign of murderous terror to stay in power, eventually plunging the country into civil war. In the end, he loses everything that gives meaning and purpose to his life before losing his life itself.

This thrilling production, led by director Bryan-Keyth Wilson, is set in the year 3013 with a post-apocalyptic backdrop, using sound and visuals to support the ensemble cast in bringing to life a world of war, darkness and blood, where "fair is foul and foul is fair". "We try to think outside of the creative box to bring our audience contemporary & classic pieces of theatre with a twist," said Bryan-Keyth Wilson, artistic director of The Eklektix Theatre Company.

The show is led by Eklektix Theatre company members: Kyle Crawford, playing the title role, Robbyn Mathews (Lady Macbeth), John Forgy (Banquo), Tomas Torres (Macduff), Tasha Lockett (Witch 1) ETC Apprentice company members Robert Hewitt (Malcolm), Libby Hart (Witch 2) with Renee Van Nifterik (Rosse), Lindsey M. Page (Witch 2), Jase Skarbovig (Lennox), Larry Fleming (King Duncan/ Porter) and Louisa Riofrio (Lady Macduff/Donalbain).

The design team includes Tomas Torres (lights), Greg Hart (sets), Brandie Frye & Kim Hart (costumes), Bryan-Keyth Wilson with Tomas Torres (sound design).

All performances take place at The Pear Theatre (in Pearland) 14803 Park Almeda Dr. Houston, Texas. Macbeth runs January 4-6th, 2013, Fri-Sun at 8pm, with a Sunday matinee at 3pm.

Tickets $20.00 - general admission - may be purchased online at www.EklektixTheatre.org. For more about the play, this production, and the cast, can be accessed on the Eklektix Theatre Company's website: www.EklektixTheatre.org or by calling 713-876-3222.
