Stark Naked Theatre Company has announced its 2012-13 season, including Body Awareness, Beyond Therapy and Macbeth. More details below!

BODY AWARENESS by Annie Baker
By: Annie Baker
October 25th through November 10th , 2012
Featuring: Kim Tobin, Pam Vogel, Drake Simpson & Matt Lents

Joyce and Phyllis, two women struggling to raise a son who may or may not have Asperger’s Syndrome, must deal with a houseguest whose nude photos of women feature prominently in a “body awareness” symposium, organized by Phyllis. This photographer intrigues Joyce, and repels Phyllis. Will this modern family survive their houseguest’s scrutiny?

This comedy (by the author of the sensational CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION) asks the question: who is the toughest critic of a woman’s appearance: men, society, or women, themselves?

BEYOND THERAPY by Christopher Durang
By: Christopher Durang
February 21st through March 9th, 2013

BEYOND THERAPY is a madcap look at dating and psychotherapy in the 1980’s by one of the funniest playwrights of our generation. It hasn’t been produced professionally in Houston for several decades, and Stark Naked is proud to offer our audience a fresh look at the play that launched Christopher Durang’s career.

MACBETH by William Shakespeare
By: William Shakespeare
June 6th through June 22nd, 2013

Screw your courage to the sticking place and you may be able to weather Stark Naked’s take on this bloodiest of all classics. Will there be blood? Absolutely, but it may all be in your mind.

Stark Naked is interested in presenting classic plays rendered in the intimate setting of STUDIO 101, highlighting our acting aesthetic. We’ve chosen MACBETH for our first foray into this arena, because of its unblinking look at the psychology of human ambition.

MACBETH features Stark Naked Co-Founders, Kim Tobin and Philip Lehl as the Macbeths.

All performances will take place at Stark Naked Theatre’s home space at STUDIO 101, located at Spring Street Studios, 1824 Spring Street, Houston, Texas. Shows run Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, Sundays at 3:00pm and Mondays at 7:30pm – all Monday performances are Pay What You Can. Ticket prices: $20 general admission, $17 seniors, $10 students.
