Due to the tremendous positive response, the Alley Theatre announces international sensation Remote Houston will return in Fall 2016 with 16 new additional performances over eight weeks. Since the premiere performance, more than 1500 people have discovered a "secret Houston" through the pedestrian-based live theatre journey. Tickets for the new dates are on sale and can be purchased online at alleytheatre.org/remotehouston or by calling the Box Office at 713.220.5700.

"We are thrilled Houstonians and out-of-town visitors have embraced Remote Houston. Our first run has been met with overwhelming positivity and we are excited to bring the experience back in the fall. A unique project like this is a great complement to our upcoming 70th season programming inside the theatre," said Dean Gladden, Managing Director of the Alley Theatre.

Remote Houston is produced by Alley Theatre and debuted at the University of Houston's 2016 CounterCurrent Festival. Remote Houston was created by Berlin based performance company Rimini Protokoll (Kaegi/Karrenbauer). This custom designed experience is an extension of the Remote X project, which has been performed in major cities including Berlin, Moscow, New York and Zurich. Remote Houston has also made a significant digital presence, with the trailer reaching over 650,000 people on Facebook and viewed more than 113,000 times. The Houston Chronicle says "The best thing about "Remote Houston" ...the lingering effect: a giddy awareness that you're alive."

Participants will be lead on a journey across the city that alters perceptions of familiar landscapes, unifies the group and conjures up personal memories. Armed with only a set of headphones, a computer generated synthetic voice guides each participant through downtown Houston, allowing them to craft their own interpretation and unique story of the sights, music and surrounding environments they encounter.
