Marilynn Wick has announced that one of South Florida's most beloved chefs has taken the helm at the Tavern at The Wick restaurant, which is located inside the acclaimed Wick Theatre and Costume Museum in Boca Raton.

Chef Marc Cela developed his signature classic French culinary style during his 25 years at his family's award-winning restaurant, L'Anjou in Lake Worth. With this new appointment, Marilynn Wick will be focusing on expanding the restaurant's reach; creating an establishment that draws from the general public as much as theatre goers.

The restaurant will be open to the public for lunch and dinner, Wednesday through Sunday. For more information www.thewick.org or call 561-995-2333.

"We are delighted to have a chef of Marc's caliber take the lead role at Tavern at The Wick," said founder Marilynn Wick. "The restaurant has been a very popular spot for pre-theatre dining, but now with Chef Cela's stellar reputation, our goal is to establish Tavern at the Wick as one of the best restaurants in the area."

With award-winning Broadway style theatre productions, an internationally acclaimed costume museum and now a full-service public orientated restaurant, The Wick has become a destination experience that can be enjoyed as both individual and combined experiences.

Foodies from throughout South Florida, and even the President of the United States, have a tremendous respect for Cela's culinary style that is steeped in French tradition; skills he honed at L' Anjou, Café L'Europe, Mar-a-Lago and the Boca Beach Club.

Chef Marc's father worked in France with the renowned Chef Paul Bocuse, developing a passionate love of classic dishes and old school techniques.

"My father taught me a culinary style that has stood the test of time," said Cela. "Those classic recipes are how the kings ate generations ago and that philosophy is the foundation for all cooking. Creativity is wonderful, but I don't believe in rewriting the classics. That style is a craft that has been handed down through generations."

After absorbing his father's wisdom, the young Cela began venturing to France each summer on his own to absorb the famed culinary culture first hand. This experience heightened his respect for the classic style and when the family sold the business in 2010, Cela joined some of the most renowned establishments in South Florida.

"From Palm Beach to Boca Raton, the guests at Café L'Europe, Mar-a-Lago and the Boca Beach Club, truly respected this French style and I look forward to creating incredible experiences for guests at Tavern at The Wick," continued Cela.

The Wick Tavern's décor pays homage to the original Tavern on the Green restaurant, famously featuring the original chandelier from the New York hot spot. The menu at The Wick features appetizers, main entrees and scratch-made desserts. The menu will vary from show to show and currently features main entrées of Chicken Breast en Croute, Filet Mignon Bordelaise, and Salmon Saffron.

The Wick is located at 7901 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida. For more, visit thewick.org/dinner-menu.
