After an extended run of Ibsen's Hedda Gabler, Slipstream is lightening up a bit just in time for spring. The young company is proudly presenting Easter by August Strindberg. One of his lesser known plays, this production delves into the darkness and light of religious allegory. A family unit is publicly ruined and awaits the "Giant" to come and take away everything they own to pay a very old debt. With characters that remind us of ourselves and of certain Biblical figures, the play gives the audience a chance to rethink the stories they thought they knew, posing thought-provoking questions. What is sanity, and who are we to define it? When we suffer, is someone not suffering more? If a debt is owed, must it not be paid? And, how far can you see with your magnifying eye?

The cast features Luna Alexander, Ryan Ernst, Jan Cartwright, Miles Bond, David Schoen, and newcomer Lauren Alo as the tortured Eleonora. The production is directed by Bailey Boudreau, with technical design and execution by Ryan Ernst. Costume design is by Bailey Boudreau.

This Easter showcases a newly adapted script, artwork by Joshua Daniel Palmer, and an hour and a half to catch a glimpse of human beings at their most vulnerable. Leave your judgment at the door, lest ye be judged.

The production runs March 12th through April 4th. Performances are Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays and Mondays at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $12 in advance only and available via www.slipstreamti.com or by emailing InsideTheSlipstream@gmail.com. Slipstream Theatre Initiative is located at 460 Hilton, Ferndale MI 48220
