Meadow Brook Theatre to Present WHITE'S LIES, 1/9-2/3

Joe White is a successful lawyer with a bevy of beauties in his life. He couldn't ask for anything more. But his mother could. She wants him to settle down. When she tells him she's sick, and that all she wants is a grandchild, Joe hatches a plan to claim an ex-girlfriend's daughter as his. This provides his mother an instant family, and, really, what could go wrong?

"White's Lies," written by Ben Andron, runs January 9 through February 3, 2013, at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. "It's a great laugh," said Travis W. Walter, MBT artistic director. "The perfect way to beat the mid-winter blues."

"We're excited to have the playwright, Ben Andron, as our special guest at the beginning of the run," Cheryl Marshall, MBT managing director, said. As a special treat for audiences, Andron will be joining Walter for the preview talkbacks on January 10 and 11. Talkbacks immediately follow these performances and are free of charge.

"White's Lies" has many familiar faces loved by MBT audiences. Ron Williams plays Joe White, with Henrietta Hermelin as his mother, Sarab Kamoo as Barbara Edwards and Katie Hardy as Michelle Edwards. The cast is rounded out by Tobin Hissong, Emily Rose and Peter C. Prouty.

"White's Lies" is directed by MBT Artistic Director Travis Walter, Terry W. Carpenter is the stage manager with set design by Brian Kessler, costumes by Corey Globke, lighting by Reid G. Johnson and sound by Mike Duncan.
