Brighton, CO- The award-winning community theatre, the Platte Valley Players present Academy Award, Gloden Globe Award and Tony Award-winners Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors at The Armory Performing Arts Center September 16-25.

The production is helmed by Director and Choreographer Kelly Van Oosbree (Performance Now Theatre Company's Ragtime) and Music Director, Bonnie Simcox (PVP and PNTC The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). The cast features Charlie Schmidt (BBT's Hairspray) as Seymour, Abby McInerney (Vintage's Miss Saigon) as Audrey, BranDon Phelps (Equinox's Assassins) as Mushnik, Cory Wendling (THAC's Shrek) Bethany Luhrs (PNTC's Anything Goes)as Chiffon, Jasmine Jones (Ignite's Dreamgirls) as Ronette, Katherine Paynter (Ignite's American Idiot) as Crystal and Larry T. Davis (PVP's Driving Miss Daisy) will give voice to Audrey II created by Cory Gilstrap and animated by Fiona Wohlwarth.

Little Shop of Horrors is a Drama Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award-winning rock, horror, musical comedy, created by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin)

This celebrated musical tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a hapless florist shop worker, who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film of the same name, directed by Roger Corman. The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, "Skid Row (Downtown)", "Somewhere That's Green" and "Suddenly, Seymour."
