Waterston, Murray to Star in New Haven's THE OLD MASTERS 1/19-2/13

Sam Waterston and Brian Murray will star in Simon Gray's THE OLD MASTERS, which will have its United States premiere at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, courant.com's 'Behind the Curtain' blog reports.  The production will run from January 19 to February 13 and is expected to transfer to Broadway with John Martello and Elliot Martin producing.

The play, which was first produced in 2004, is set outside Florence in 1937 and deals with a meeting between art historIan Bernard Berenson and art dealer Joseph Duveen. 

Sam Waterston's stage credits include HAMLET, Joseph Papp's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, and Broadway's ABE LINCOLN IN ILLINOIS.  On screen, his credits include 'The Killing Fields' and 'Law and Order.'  Brian Murray's stage credits include ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD, SLEUTH, DA, NOISES OFF, THE LITTLE FOXES, UNCLE VANYA, and THE CRUCIBLE.  He has directed productions of HAY FEVER and ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, among others.
