On Monday, November 21, Goodspeed Musicals will hold their Annual Food Drive to benefit the East Haddam Food Bank. Goodspeed will be collecting donations in the hopes that they will have another record-breaking year for participation. The need is great this year as the number of households served by the East Haddam Food Bank has more than tripled in the past couple of years.

Goodspeed Musicals is offering a special buy one ticket, get one free to patrons who bring a generous donation of non-perishable foods to the November 21st 2:00 matinee or the 7:30 p.m. performance of City of Angels at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam OR Hello! My Baby at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn.

The East Haddam Food Bank is in need of many non-perishable food items, especially "the basics" such as soups, pastas, canned fruits and vegetables, and cereals, as well as paper goods and personal toiletries.

"As we enter the holiday season the Goodspeed family realizes the tremendous need right here in our community," explains Michael P. Price, "this year we encourage all of our visitors to participate in this wonderful opportunity to share with our neighbors in the spirit of giving."
During Thanksgiving week, performances will take place on Monday, November 21, at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm; Friday, November 25, at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm; Saturday, November 26, at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm; and Sunday, November 28, at 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm (Final Performance). Donations will be accepted at both venues through November 27th. Tickets for City of Angels and Hello! My Baby including the food drive performances are available through the Goodspeed Box Office at 860.873.8668 or at www.goodspeed.org. Advance reservations are recommended. This offer is subject to availability, with no adjustments for prior sale.

ABOUT City Of Angels: Swinging, sexy, smart, and funny! An ingenious spoof of 1940s Hollywood and whodunit films with side-by-side stories about the "real" world of a detective fiction writer and the "reel" world of his fictional gumshoe hero. One balances romance and rewrites, while the other slinks through a film noir netherworld of thugs and femmes fatales. Winner of tons of Tony Awards, it's a witty detective thriller with a jazzy score that really kills. City of Angels features Music by Cy Coleman, Lyrics by David Zippel, and Book by Larry Gelbart. Recommended for ages 12 and up

ABOUT Hello! My Baby: Get your hit tunes right here, right now, folks! This riotous new-fashioned musical reboots the greatest hits of Berlin, Gershwin, Kern and more. When Tin Pan Alley's teen King of the Song-Pluggers falls for a factory girls who's a musical demon, it's a recipe for comic romance as they sing and dance their way through class struggles, street gangs, debutante balls and a whole lot of ukuleles. Say "Hello!" to a brand new, all-American musical valentine for all ages!
Hello! My Baby features dozens of songs including "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows," "Alice Blue Gown," "Ain't We Got Fun," "A Good Man Is Hard To Find," "You Made Me Love You," "My Buddy," "Stairway To Paradise," "Hello! My Baby" and plenty more by your favorite American songwriting masters! Hello! My Baby is conceived and written by four-time Emmy Award winner Cheri Steinkellner.
