CSz Theater Chicago Sets June Shows, Classes & More

CSz Theater Chicago announces upcoming programming in its 28th anniversary season - please add/update listings, call for photos, media comps, and more information:

Special events!

· Otherworld Theatre Company presents Fight Quest on Wednesdays at 8 p.m., June 8-July 27, 2016, at CSz Theater Chicago, $10 tickets. In this hour-long, choose-your-own-theatrical-adventure, a lucky audience member chooses a champion - Barbarian, Ranger, Monk or Rogue - to quest beside them then step aside to watch the choreographed fights! Directed by and starring Moira Begale, with actors Bennett Bottero, Grace Gimpel, Brendan Stallings, Justin Verstrate, and Kai Young, appropriate for ages 12 and up.

· ComedySportz Chicago joins our international network for the 2016 ComedySportz World Championship from June 8-11 in Indianapolis - for tickets and info, visit http://indycomedysportz.com/comedysportz-world-championship-2016-indianapolis/

· ComedySportz Chicago veteran and 100 Proof Stand-Up show creator Jamie Campbell returns to Chicago on Sunday, June 12, from 1-4 p.m., to teach his Trial by Failure workshop - space is limited so register today at 773-549-8080.

· Dads get a FREE ticket with "proof of family" (at least one other paid ticket) over Father's Day weekend, for all ComedySportz shows on June 16-18 - call 773-549-8080 to reserve!

· Improv Training Camp. CSz Education is registering now for adult and kid summer camps, which includes a FREE ticket to a May or June ComedySportz show to preview our format!

o Kids (ages 7-14) can take a half day camp from 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon

o Kids and adults (aged 18+) can also take a full day camp from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

§ July 18-22, Adult Session 1

§ July 25-29, Kid Session 1

§ August 1-5, Adult Session 2

§ August 8-12, Kid Session 2

o The game-based improvisation curriculum, taught by ComedySportz's professional ensemble members, culminates in a Friday, 5-6 p.m. show each week.

o Kids' camp weeks will be split into simultaneous sessions for ages 7-10 and 11-14; each week's curriculum will be different so kids can take both weeks and receive new material. Also, pre- and post-camp care is available for an additional fee on request.

o Tuition:

§ Half day for one week (kids' morning session) = $250 (early bird by June 1, only $175)

§ Full day for one week = $500 (early bird by June 1, only $450)

· 100 Proof Stand-Up Comedy will present a special Pride event co-produced with Chigaygo, the week before the parade, at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 20 (first day of summer), $10. Co-hosted by 100 Proof's Cody Melcher and Chigaygo's Scott Duff, the evening will feature headliner Baby Wine (from Annoyance), with Erin Diamond as Melania Trump (Paper Machete), Marla Depew (Just Dickin' Around), Jaboukie Young-White (Undergrad Underground), Rad Turkin (Kale & Komedy), Casey Larwood and Peter Alexander Bresnan (100 Proof). The program will be followed by an after-party from 9:30 p.m. to 12 midnight (instead of The Chaser open mic), which will feature DJ Greg Haus, is open to the public, and will feature a cash bar with drink specials.

· LGBTQ families are encouraged to come to the ComedySportz shows June 23-25 (Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturday at 6, 8 and 10 p.m.) to celebrate Pride that's appropriate for all ages!

Ongoing Signature Shows!

CSz Theater Chicago continues to present adult content, off- and late-night shows for $15 and under, including Get On Up, the FREE improv with audience participation on Fridays at 11:30 p.m., and our up-and-coming improvisors in House Party on Sundays at 7 p.m. for an open run - tickets are $5 (or $3 for college students with ID). The Blue Show runs Fridays at 10 p.m. ($15), and Saturday's Midnight Blue is $10.
