Blue Man Group to Celebrate 20 Years at Briar Street with Birthday Show, More Performances

Blue Man Group, continuing its open run at Chicago's Briar Street Theatre (3133 N. Halsted), is celebrating 20 years in Chicago with an expanded fall performance schedule. The schedule includes a second autism-friendly performance Sunday, October 1 and a special 20th birthday performance Thursday, October 12.

Blue Man Group Chicago will host an additional autism-friendly performance this year in collaboration with Autism Speaks Sunday, October 1 at 4 p.m. The performance will be the second of two Chicago autism-friendly performances scheduled in 2017. Slight modifications will be made to the show in order to better accommodate individuals and families affected by autism. All tickets will be sold at a discounted price of $49, with $5 from every ticket purchased donated to Autism Speaks.

Blue Man Group will officially celebrate 20 years at Chicago's Briar Street Theatre Thursday, October 12 with a special birthday performance at 8 p.m. Guests of the celebration will receive commemorative cupcakes as well as enjoy a few surprises during the show tied in with the special milestone.

Blue Man Group performances are a celebration of human connection. Mixing art, music, comedy and state-of-the-art technology, the show encourages audiences to reconnect with their inner (and outer) child and see the world through a new perspective. Three bald and blue men explore our cultural norms with wide-eyed wonder, poking fun at our collective quirks and reminding us how much we all have in common. Backed by a live rock band, the Blue Men unify the audience for the show's celebratory climax - an unforgettable, euphoric dance party.

Blue Man Group is continually refreshed with new music, fresh stories and custom instruments. It's a joyful, multi-sensory experience that has performed in over 20 countries and has captivated more than 35 million people of all ages and cultures worldwide.
