The Emelin Theatre has announced its fall 2012 season. Celebrating 40 years this November, the Emelin brings the best in live performing arts to Westchester County with its high quality and affordable programs offering a broad mix of entertainment appealing to all ages and tastes. This fall the Emelin will present award-winning musicians; family favorites; outstanding comedy and theatre; a return of classical music featuring the world-renowned Juillard String Quartet; and more.

CLASSICAL
Julliard String Quartet|$57 Adults/$29 Students

Beethoven: String Quartet in C-sharp minor, Op.131
Beethoven: String Quartet in A minor, Op.132

The Juilliard String Quartet, one of the most celebrated and widely recorded string quartets of our time, “plays new works as if they were established masterpieces, and established masterpieces as if they were new.” This gorgeous program of two big beautiful Beethoven quartets is accompanied by a pre-show discussion with the performers. Join us as classical music returns to the Emelin in honor of our 40th Anniversary!

CABARET
Will and Anthony Nunziata|$42

Twin brothers Will and Anthony Nunziata have been dubbed by The Wall Street Journal as being “blessed with strong voices and leading man looks” and by The New York Times as “displaying an engagingly brassy professionalism.” Enchanting audiences with their fresh arrangements of popular music, show tunes, and standards, these Pelham-native siblings now make a homecoming with their Emelin debut.

Aquila Theatre breathes fresh life into one of Shakespeare’s most popular and enduring comedies, with The New Yorker describing their productions as “the classics made relevant with superb acting and clever staging.”

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out|$42

Celebrating 20 years of music together, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out prove they are still at the top of their game! Their soaring leads, spectacular harmonies and driving instrumentals propel the band through fine contemporary bluegrass songwriting as well as traditional favorites. Four-time (and current) IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year Russell Moore heads up this seven-time IBMA Vocal Group of the Year – a fantastic way to open the season!

Nova Scotia's finest return to the Emelin with their trademark brother harmonies and powerhouse traditional sound. Featured performers at IBMA's World of Bluegrass in 2011, Alan and Rick Spinney and their excellent band make even the oldest chestnuts sound fresh and alive with their infectious spirit and energy. Great harmonies, rock-solid instrumentals: as good as it gets.
