Heidi Blickenstaff Took the Stage at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts

The talented Heidi Blickenstaff took the stage at the renowned Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts to entertain Broadway wannabes and performing arts hopefuls with renditions of "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from Disney's The Little Mermaid and Kander and Ebb's "New York, New York." Blickenstaff was not the only high profile guest artist to visit the camp this summer. Other performers included Usdan alumnae Jane Monheit as well as Sara Davis Buechner, Elizabeth and the Catapult, and other top voices from Broadway.

Heidi Blickenstaff comes directly from the Broadway company of Something Rotten! where she originated the role of Bea. She was part of the original creative team for the Tony-nominated and Obie Award-winning Broadway musical [title of show] and Now. Here. This. at The Vineyard Theatre. On Broadway, Heidi played Alice Beineke in The Addams Family, Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid and Susan Hershey in The Full Monty. Heidi won a Helen Hayes Award for her role as Ann Mitchell in Meet John Doe at Ford's Theatre and appeared in the world premiere production of First You Dream: The Music of Kander and Ebb at Signature Theatre.

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts alumni include Mariah Carey, Natalie Portman, Jackie Hoffman, Olivia Thirlby, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Seth Rudetsky, as well as members of major dance ensembles and many other artists. Enrollment for next season will begin this fall. More info: www.usdan.org.
